About Stephen

In 2010, I took my first big step with a digital camera. I enrolled in the Digital Photographic Practice course at the Canberra Institute of Technology. Prior to this, I attained a Cert IV in Screen and Media at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE). My final project at the AIE was to model a game level which I based on a story by J G Ballard.

I mostly shoot with a Nikon D750. Events and festivals are at the heart my interest in photography. I love long exposure photography with its dream-like effect of the bending of light and blurring of time. I also enjoy shots of architecture and landscapes. I would like to explore more of the macro world to reveal details that are too often out of sight (and out of mind). Many of my favourite images by other photographers have elements of allegory and metaphor.

I also continue to post at Canberra100, a photoblog I began in Canberra's Centenary Year of 2013.
