Today we wrap up this series on Melbourne - after I had a few days to shoot there last week.
We started this set with the Batmobile – from the Tim Burton Exhibition. Now, a museum of a different caliber; and it’s a horror tale straight from the history books rather than a fantasy script. The Old Melbourne Gaol is a heritage site that runs great tours – and welcomes photography inside its walls. The Cell Block you see here is a spooky place. They hanged 135 people there, including infamous Bushranger Ned Kelly.
The Cell Block dates back to 1845, closed in 1924 and then opened as a museum in 1972.
I took this shot from the top floor of the Cell Block.
