I am exploring the area around the historic town of Braidwood – an hour’s drive out of Canberra.
The region was famous for its gold in the 1850s. After the end of the gold rush, many once thriving settlements became little more than place names on the map.
This rusty steam powered tractor stands at the entrance to the Old Cheese Factory at Reidsdale. The farm now produces cider from locally grown apples.
I called in to get a flavor of the region (and try the cider!) before I venture into a photo shoot at the old flour mill on nearby Millpond Farm. I begin this Mill series tomorrow. Hope you can join me!
