The Irish Legion (Legion Irlandaise) was a regiment who fought for Napoleon against the English.
The Irish Legion recruited men first from Irish and Scottish Jacobite expatriates. They had fled after failed revolts.
As this soldier told me, the Irish Legion missed the Battle of Waterloo. They were too busy re-arming at the time!
