Orange Tesla

Posted by
Stephen (Canberra, Australia) on 6 December 2012 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

A Tesla Roadster. One of the best looking cars I saw at the Canberra Electric Vehicle Festival. This orange paint job rates as my favourite - ahead of the silver one I shot at the same event last year.

The Tesla can reach a speed of 100 km/h in 3.7 sec. Its range is about 400km.

However, this report claims a design problem can turn the Tesla into a “brick”; and the story gets an update here.

I think this car is pretty cool... you've showcased it very well! Plus it's called a Tesla.... how could it be bad?

This is definitely my favourite too, S!
Is this Telsa also powered by electric motors?!

6 Dec 2012 9:35am

@London Caller: Yes - all electric - thus the need to keep its battery charged.

I read the report that you linked to. Man! That is a major design problem-I mean how bad can it be? You go off for a 2 week holiday, and you come back to an immobile, bricked car! I cannot believe that they don't have a "Hibernate" mode, even $200 mobile phones have that to protect from this kind of failure caused by a battery total discharging. This is a known problem, both Li-ion, and li-poly batteries suffer from it, but the rest of the universe seems to have worked out a plan to protect the battery.

Ah I have seen these before on a car show over here called Top Gear. Very cool! Definitely the future, they just need to sort those battery cells out! So expensive!
