A 'Fire Garden' with hundreds of candles transforming the forecourt of the High Court building. A very primeval attraction and one of the best I have seen at this festival.
To get the shot I selected ‘candlelight’ from the scene modes on my DSLR. This scene mode is perfect for capturing the warm glow of the flames. In manual or aperture settings, I find that the flames can take on more of a white than yellow look, giving a coldness to the image. (Alternatively, set manual white balance; and you can also fine tune warmth in RAW file.)
I also got the shot hand-held which allows more flexibility than is possible using a tripod in a crowded space.
