I am in the chamber of the James Turrell Skyspace dome at the National Gallery. In this shot you see a performance by new music ensemble The NOISE with Oliver Miller on cello and James Eccles on viola. Seating was limited to the bench that runs around the inside of the dome. The music pieces were very quiet with just viola and cello. My camera has a silent shutter and I was able to get a few shots without causing distraction. The acoustics proved to be very good in a space designed by James Turrell primarily as a viewing chamber that affects our perception of light and the sky. You can see my previous shots of the Skyspace here and here.
