A pair of Galahs at the bird feeder in my garden. You will note here the different eye colour of the two birds. The male has the darker iris colour.
The Galah is a cockatoo (variety of parrot) and one of the most common native birds seen in Canberra gardens. I see them in pairs but Galahs also travel in large flocks. They live in all open habitats but to breed require nest hollows in mature trees. The Galah is a noisy bird with a very raucous call.
